Joseph J. Casertino

Joseph J. Casertino, aged 56, passed away peacefully on April 11, 2024 in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his cherished family. 

Joe was born May 7, 1967 in Saratoga Springs, the son of the late Joseph J. Casertino (Pete) and Eloise "Lee" Seaman Casertino. 

He leaves behind his sons Devon Casertino (Kelly), William Casertino, and daughter Caitlyn Casertino and a beautiful Granddaughter Cameron Eloise Casertino. He is survived by his siblings, Norma Anne Francis (Carl), Peter Casertino (Joyce), Nicholas Casertino, and Gloria Casertino Lana. He will also be missed by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many lifelong friends.

Joseph followed in the footsteps of his father and older brothers as a professional painter. He was well known for his work in Saratoga over the past several decades. Many of the beautiful homes and mansions of Saratoga have felt the professional work of Joe.

He had a passion for fishing, sports, horses and visits to the Harness Track.  In his earlier years, Joe was a great athlete and had an obsession with sports. Whether playing in amateur softball or football leagues, coaching his sons and daughter or simply spectating, his competitive spirit was evident.

Joe was a gentle and kind man who loved his family. He will be missed but never forgotten.

The family would like to thank the Palliative Care and Hospice staff for their kindness and support to our loved one and his family.

A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave. (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.), Saratoga Springs, NY.  Calling hours will be from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 19, 2024 in Greenridge Cemetery, 17 Greenridge Place, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866.
