Erika A. Wenger, age 92, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Wesley Health Care, surrounded by the love of her family.
Born on February 15, 1934, in Bremen, Germany, Erika was the beloved daughter of the late Deiter Cordes and Maria Friedrich. She carried with her the strength, resilience, and grace of her German roots throughout her life. She later married the love of her life, Hans Ulrich, with whom she built a life grounded in devotion, partnership, and enduring love.
Erika dedicated many faithful years as a bookkeeper with Avon Electric, where she was known for her diligence, integrity, and steady work ethic. Outside of work, she embraced life’s simple joys. She never passed up a good game of cards or an enthusiastic round of BINGO. She found peace in swimming and reading, pleasure in bowling with friends, and pride in tending to her garden. Whether nurturing flowers or friendships, Erika cultivated beauty wherever she went.
Above all, Erika treasured her family. She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Karen-Sue Maher (Edward), Heidemarie Grattan, and Tanja Dombroski (Bob); her cherished grandchildren, Erika Baldwin (Kevin), Ian Maher (Dakota Fuller), Derek Grattan (Meagan), Alicia Grattan (Dylan Muller), Nicole Burns (Robert), Courtney Snyder (Mark), Samantha Braden (Austin), and Sara Metzler (Jake); great grandchildren, Brennan Daly, Cayla Daly, Luke Grattan, Jase Grattan, Hayden Snyder, Stetson Braden along with many dear friends who will forever remember her gracious spirit and kind heart.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Avenue, Saratoga Springs, New York.
